Audio[]

  • Spring: KOCH Entertainment and HIT Entertainment inked a deal to release future Barney albums as well as reissue previous ones.
  • Unknown: Super-Dee-Duper Songs is released.
  • November 11: Start Singing With Barney was released to stores.

Events[]

  • January 17: Barney's Colorful World! has a soft opening at Mid South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee.
  • January 23: Barney's Colorful World! has its premiere at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York.
  • February 7: Barney performs at Winterfest at Mel Lastman Square at North York Civic Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.[1]
  • April 29: Barney visits kids at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also left behind some videos and toys for the hospital's playroom.[2]
  • October 21: Barney visits St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA as a part of the Barney's Colorful World! tour.[3]
  • October 25: Barney makes an appearance at the 10th Anniversary Dream Halloween Los Angeles Fundraising Event at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California.
  • November 27: Barney, Baby Bop and BJ performed "The Best Manners Medley" at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, while a new Barney balloon debuts in the parade.
  • December: Barney performs a live show at Mel Lastman Square in Toronto, Canada.
  • December 6: Barney appears at the Neiman Marcus Adolphus Children's Parade for the benefit of Dallas Children's Medical Center.
  • Barney’s Chat With Me Program at Toys “R” Us wins the Silver Pyramid Award at the 26th Annual Promotional Products Association International.[4]

  • Early Summer: Southwest Airlines offers young travelers a Southwest Airlines/Barney coloring sheet to keep them entertained while flying.[5]
  • June 9: It was announced that Zooth, Inc. recently announced a line of Barney oral hygiene products for toddlers, including a selection of sculpted Barney Zoothbrushes as well as Zoothpaste.[5]
  • Fall: Fisher-Price introduces the Barney "Best Behaviors" line, three engaging products for toddlers that reinforce pro-social skills such as polite manners ans safe habits. the line includes the Please 'n Thank You Cash Register, the Best Manners Singing Barney, and Safety Songs Driver. [5]
