• March 28-30: Barney's Big Purple Bus Tour tours in Los Angeles, California.

• April 12: Barney Live! - The Let's Go Tour performs at The City Theatre in Valletta, Malta.
• May 3-August 3: Barney's 20th Anniversary Concert tours across Canada.
• May 6: Hi! I'm Riff! is released to stores. It is the final video to be distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
• September 9: The Best of Barney is released to stores. It is the first video to be distributed by Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
• September 15: Season 12 premieres on PBS. It was the first season to be produced by WNET New York.
• September 26: Season 12 finale on PBS.
• October 14: Barney's Night Before Christmas is re-released to stores. Also, I Love You Gift Set is released to stores.
