May 1: Barney makes his appearance at The Jerry Franklin CPTV Gala[1], an event celebrating the retirement of President & CEO Jerry Franklin after thirty-three years. The event was held at the Connecticut Convention Centre.
May 23-26: Barney appeared on stage at 10, 12, 2, and 4 o'clock at the MamaMagic Expo in Randburg, South Africa.
June 18-19: Barney's Sing Along Show was performed for DPTV Kids Club Live at the Royal Oak Farmers Market in Detroit, Michigan.
July 26: Barney & Friends was taken off the Universal Kids lineup, making it available on their app and video on demand instead.
August 30-1 September: Barney appears on stage at 10:30, 1:30, and 3:30 at the MamaMagic Expo at the Durban Expo Centre in South Africa.
October 18: Mattel announces that a new live-action Barney movie is in production and will be produced by Daniel Kaluuya.[2]
November 1-3: Barney appeared on stage at 10:30, 1:00, and 3:30 at the MamaMagic Expo in Cape Town, South Africa. VIP tickets were sold to those who wanted to meet Barney after the show.
December 6: Carey Stinson, Barney's third costume actor, will premiere a new podcast titled "Purple Roads" that will involve not just Barney, but other children's entertainment.
