- October 14: Barney's World: Vol. 1, the first Barney's World album, was released.
- October 18: "The Barney Takeover!" occurs on Pandora Kids Radio, where Barney takes over the radio[1] and plays songs from Barney's World. Music from Barney & Friends alongside non-Barney music also plays.
- November 12: Generation Barney, a podcast by Connecticut Public, premiered.[2]
Digital[]
- February 13: Facer, a watch face customization platform for smartwatches, releases various official watch face designs based on Barney.
- February 14: Barney shares a viral/notable "Love Day" message across social media (via TikTok, Instagram and YouTube).[3][4][5]
- Early March: Mattel puts out a public listing to hire a Senior Manager for Global Brand Marketing (Product) for Barney.[6]
- October 11: The first episode of Barney's World was released on YouTube. [7]

- January 1-27: Barney performs daily on the first floor of Place Vendôme Mall in Lusail, Qatar in honor of Shop Qatar, a shopping festival spanning multiple malls in the region. The show's dialogue was in Arabic while the songs were in English. The free show performed Sunday to Thursday at 4PM, 7PM, and 8:30PM and Friday and Saturdays at 4PM, 7PM 8:30PM, and 9:30PM.[8][9][10]
- March 7: During Mattel's 2024 Virtual Analyst Day Presentation, Chief Brand Officer Lisa McKnight mentions that in late-Fall 2024, the Barney franchise will be relaunched with Barney's World followed by a toy line in early 2025. Chief Franchise Officer Josh Silverman also discussed what's to come with Mattel's relaunch of the Barney franchise, further explaining that the relaunch will span into television, film, music, YouTube content, toys, books and consumer products, as well as explaining that accessories and apparel featuring classic Barney will be available for adult fans. Images of the relaunch were also showcased during the presentation.[11][12]
- May 21-23: Barney was at the Mattel booth during Licensing Expo 2024 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.[13]
- August 7: To celebrate the Barney collaborations with Mala the Brand and Peace Collective, the two companies held a launch party at Peace Collective's Distillery store in Toronto, Canada. The event details were announced by Peace Collective on August 2, with sign ups beginning on August 1.[14]
- August 28: Barney visits the Mattel HQ in El Segundo, California.[15]
- September 24-26: Barney appears at the Mattel booth and in the character parade at the Brand Licensing Europe Expo 2024 at ExCel London in the UK.

- January 9: American footwear company Crocs, Inc. released limited-edition Barney themed clogs[19] for toddlers, kids and adults. Alongside the clogs, they released a line of Barney shoe charms for added shoe personality. While the clogs remained online exclusive, the charms were later released at Crocs stores.
- March 17: A twenty-four piece themed Barney puzzle, licensed from Mattel, is released from Danawares Inc. at Giant Tiger, a Canadian discount store chain.
- March 24: Super Impulse, a toy company, officially releases the World's Smallest Barney plush[20] after the plush was first unveiled in Fall 2023.
- May 8: Hot Topic, an American fast-fashion company, exclusively releases the Barney Collage T-Shirt. The shirt was available in sizes XS-3X. Sizes XS-XL were priced for $28.90, while the 2X and 3X were originally priced for $30.90.[21]
- May 11: Hot Topic exclusively released a Barney Hug Life T-Shirt. The shirt was available in sizes XS-3X.[22]
- May: UK greeting card company Moonpig released a line of customizable Barney greeting cards. [23]
- June 6: Amazon exclusively releases various made-on-demand Barney clothing designs in the US. Designs include "Better Together," "Celestial Stars with Rainbow and Clouds," "Vintage 90's," "Love Club," and "I Love You You Love Me". In addition to clothing, the designs were also available on tote bags, Pop Sockets and iPhone cases. [24]
- June 13: Amazon exclusively releases the Barney "Character Grid with Gold Stars" design on various clothing (including various shirts, tank tops and sweatshirts) in the US. This design was also available on tote bags, PopSockets and iPhone cases.[25]
- June 28: Hot Topic exclusively releases the Barney I Love You Girls Baby T-Shirt.
- August 1: Canadian candle company Mala The Brand announces a Barney collaboration with plans to release Barney-branded scented candles. More details were revealed the following day. [26]
- August 1: Franco Mfg. releases a Barney bedding set in several bed sizes. [27]
- August 2: Concept One, a manufacturer of apparel and accessories featuring licensed brands, lists an officially licensed Barney Plush Backpack on their website.
- August 3: Spirit Halloween releases a new Barney jumpsuit costume in adult and toddler sizes. [28] [29]
- August 8: Mala released their Barney scented candle line. The candles are available in "Peanut Butter and Jelly," "Warm Milk," and "Bubble Gum Club" scents.
- August 9: Peace Collective, a Canadian clothing brand, launches their Barney apparel line. The line was teased on August 2[14] and revealed on August 7 prior to their launch party.[30]
- August 23: Amazon releases 16 new made-on-demand Barney clothing designs in the US. New designs include "Heart," "I Love You," "Love Yourself," "Moon and Stars," "Rainbow Tee-rific," "Barney Star" "Super-dee-duper" "Blue and White Heart" "Better Together," "You are Special," "Togetherness," "Barney Grid" "Love Club," "I love you... You love me...," "I Love You Circle," and "Barney and Rainbow".
- September 6: Franco Mfg. releases a Barney plush throw blanket, under their Franco Collectibles brand. [31]

- February 1: Various Barney Home Videos are released onto the digital platforms of YouTube Movies & TV, Prime Video and iTunes by Cineverse Entertainment due to a partnership between the respective company and 9 Story Media Group who holds video distribution to Barney content.
