Alex is a character that only appeared on The Land of Make Believe. Portrayed by Dylan Crowley, Alex is described as a New York street kid[1] who is the brother of Megan.
Alex, alongside his sister Megan, are first seen playing with the Barney doll. After seeing Mrs. Wilson trip over Mr. Barnes while carrying a load of books, they discover a book called The Land of Make-Believe that she eventually gives them. Once Barney springs to life, they eventually showcase the book to him. Alex then proceeds to read the book in which Princess Zuleeka, the character from the story, appears in front of them. As the princess questions as to how she'll get back home, Alex proclaims that they'll all help her, with Barney's reassurance.
After taking the bus to the library, Alex helps explains the different stories you can find in a library to the princess. After entering the library door, Alex and the others are transported to The Land of the Make Believe.
Figuring out which way to go, they all meet Serena the Mermaid, who's dolphin friends point them which way they need to go to get the princess back home, however before she and others made the journey, Alex (alongside Megan and Princess Zuleeka) swam with the dolphins. Eventually, Alex and the others journey through The Land of Make Believe and bring the princess back home. Dubbed as a hero (alongside the others), the king and queen allows them to have any reward they would like. Megan tells them that they would like to go back home, to which Alex and the others agree. As he, his sister and Barney touched the Gazing Globe, they were transported back home. The trio then proceeds to finish reading The Land of Make-Believe book. Alex, Megan and Barney see that they're in the book as well. As they reach the end of the book, Alex is thrilled to see himself in a book, as it's never happened to him before. Megan then suggests to Alex that they should give the book back to Mrs. Wilson. Alex suggests that they can go to the library and get more books, and the duo proceeds to run and ask their mom if they can go now.
