Baby Bop is a main recurring character on the television series, Barney's World. A charming and opinionated dinosaur who is a performer at heart, who knows all about feelings and is a true advocate for expressing them, no matter how big or small.

Baby Bop is also known to glow, as she glows when she loves herself (as explained in the special I Love Me Too). Baby Bop also loves hide and seek, rollerskating and playing in costumes.

Design

Baby Bop's iteration for Barney's World is based off of the classic design that was already established for Barney & Friends and its predecessor Barney & The Backyard Gang. The design of this iteration of Baby Bop was made using DALL-E 3, an AI system developed by OpenAI that creates custom images and art based on text prompts. Mattel, owners of the Barney IP, had already been using AI to assist with their other Mattel brands and IPs. Various artists at Nelvana would also assist with the character design and models for Baby Bop in Barney's World, including Steve Remen, a storyboard artist for Nelvana, (who also helped to develop designs for Barney and Billy).

Unlike "classic Baby Bop", whose colors are the inverse of "classic Barney", this iteration of Baby Bop does not follow the original pattern. Baby Bop is green, her belly and her dino toes are pink, she has dark green spots and she wears a pink hair band. When Baby Bop, wears costumes, she always wears a tutu with shorts (while Billy wears a sweater with a hoodie).

In-universe facts

• According to the My First Puzzle Book Baby Bop is Billy's younger sister, just like in the original series, where she was BJ's (BJ was the inspiration for Billy's character) younger sister.

Out-universe Facts

• Baby Bop is so far the only dinosaur within Barney's World who has never been shown to do the tail phone gag.
• Baby Bop's pretend costumes almost always consist of a tutu with shorts in contrast to Billy's usual hooded jacket.
