"Baby Bumblebee" is a children's song that first appeared in "The Backyard Show" in the Barney franchise.
The song shares the same tune as "The Arkansas Traveler" and Raffi Cavoukian's "Peanut Butter Sandwich".
Lyrics[]
- I'm bringing home my baby bumblebee
- Won't my mommy be so proud of me?
- I'm bringing home my baby bumblebee
- Ouch! You stung me!
- I'm gonna swat the baby bumblebee
- Won't my mommy be so proud of me?
- I'm gonna swat the baby bumblebee
- Ouch! You got me!
- I'm running from the baby bumblebee
- I won't get stung, just stay away from me.
- I'm running from the baby bumblebee
- Gotcha! You can't get away from me!
Alternative Lyrics[]
- In The Backyard Show, the second lyrics were sung:
- I'm gonna swat the baby bumblebee
- Oh, won't Barney be so proud of me?
- I'm gonna swat the baby bumblebee
- Ouch! You stung me!

Trivia[]
- In the Barney franchise, the line “I’m bringing home my baby bumblebee” is changed to “I’m bringing home a baby bumblebee”.
- The song debuted entirely in the key of G in The Backyard Show. Starting with I Just Love Bugs, this was changed to G-flat for the first verse, and A-flat for the third verse, increasing in tempo as the song progresses.
- The only episode to use “Ouch! You got me!” is At Home with Animals. In the other two episodes, the last line from the first verse is reused.
