Barney's A Great Day for Learning is the ninth US studio album from Barney, released on CD and cassette on July 27, 1999 under the music division of Lyrick Studios. It was soon re-released by Koch Records and HIT Entertainment on February 10, 2004.
On April 10, 2020, the album was transferred to Warner Music Group's Arts Music division, along with other Barney albums, as Mattel entered into an exclusive, multi-year global music licensing agreement between the company, announced on May 1, 2020.[2]
The album is designed to educate children about colors, counting & numbers, going to school, the library, books, the letters of the alphabet, opposites and even the days of the week.
The same year of the album's release, it commercially went on to peak at number twenty-four on Billboard's Top Kid's Albums on October 16, 1999.[3]
Following the release of Barney's A Great Day for Learning a Spanish language version, titled Un Gran día para Aprender, was released on December 1, 2003. Unlike it's English counterpart, the songs were taken from other episodes and home videos.
