"Barney's Big Race" is the fifth episode of the first season of Barney's World.

Plot

Inspired by a hot-rod in Mel’s dad's garage, Barney helps the kids make their own magical hot rod-style race cars! When Mel gets frustrated that she keeps losing the race, Barney helps her realize there's more to racing than just winning.

Release

"Barney's Big Race" was one of the first five episodes of Barney's World to be released on the streaming service Max on October 14, 2024. Following afterwards, it made a linear premiere on November 1, 2024 on Cartoonito, the preschool block of Cartoon Network (alongside the episode "The Brave Truth").

Trivia

• This episode of Barney's World marked the first time that Barney doesn't first appear by the Barney Bench when being called by the children.
• When Mel passes Vivie during the second round of the race, the song "Mister Sun" can briefly be heard on Vivie's radio.
