- This album is not to be confused with Barney's Greatest Hits - Live On Stage.
Barney's Greatest Hits: The Early Years is the first greatest hits album by Barney. It features various songs from his first three albums: Barney's Favorites, Volume 1 (1993), Barney's Favorites, Volume 2 (1994), and Barney's Sleepytime Songs (1995). It was released on CD and cassette on September 26, 2000, by Capitol Records. It was the third and final US Barney album to be released in 2000.
After the year of the album's release, it commercially went on to peak at number twenty-five on Billboard's Top Kid's Albums on October 20, 2001.[2] It was the ninth Barney album to hit that chart and it was so far the last.
