Barney & Me On Safari is a 1999 personalized children's picture book that was written by Kimberly Kearns and illustrated by Bill Alger.
Within this formatted book, the die cut circle reveals the child's picture throughout the book, allowing them to become an active character throughout the story. This was the second and final book in the Barney & Me series following Barney & Me At The Circus.
Plot[]
Barney and the child are going on a safari, to which the child has always dreamed of visiting the jungle to see lots of animals. Barney and the child first splashed in the water with a few hippos. Next, the duo went riding on elephants, to which they almost hit their heads on the trees branches. While seeing the lions roar, Barney and the child pretended to roar like them, but louder. Barney and the child would later swing on the vines with a few monkeys as they monkeyed around with them. Next, the hyenas would go on to make the duo laugh. Barney and the child watched the giraffes munching on the leaves high in the trees, to which their munching made the child hungry. Grateful for the time on the safari, the child thanks Barney.
