Brian Paul Mack (born October 25, 1965 in Springfield, Illinois) was a director for Barney & Friends starting from the show's eleventh season until the show's ending. Prior to being a director for the series, he was first an associate director, starting with the seventh season of Barney & Friends.

Career

Given that he knew them, Mack began receiving calls from the producers of Barney & Friends given they were looking for a new associate director. It took him three months to accept the position. Initially, Mack didn't want to be an associate director as his goal was to be a director for the series. Given he was new to the show and because of seniority, he could only fulfill being an associate director at the time, a role that saw him breaking down scripts scene by scene.

Karen Barnes, an executive producer of Barney & Friends, was looking for more directors during her time within the series. Barnes asked Fred Holmes, a director of Barney & Friends, if he had any connections, to which he recommended Brian Mack, given that both Holmes and Mack worked well together. Barnes took it into consideration. While Mack was in Los Angeles, California, he was asked if he'd like to direct and episode of Barney & Friends. Mack became a director starting with the eleventh season where he first directed the episodes "The Shrinking Blankey" / "The Awful Tooth". His approach to directing a show was the same as when he was an associate director. His notes were always very detailed on a script.
