Plot[]
Live from your imagination, it's time to sing lots of your favorite songs with "Barney's Musical Game Show!" Barney, Baby Bop, and BJ can't wait to play in this day of interactive musical challenges. There are songs to sing, clues to solve and surprises from some fairy-tale friends. With Barney, the name of the game is fun!

- This video marked:
- The first video where Karen Barnes served as the executive producer after Randy Dalton resigned from his duties. She would later become apart of the television series after this video was made once it was released.
- The first video to be directed by Steven Feldman since What a World We Share!. After this, he would not direct another home video in nearly four years until Barney's Jungle Friends was released.
- The final video with new material to be released on VHS as subsequent Barney videos containing new material would only be released on DVD due to the discontinuation of VHS tapes in 2006.
- The final video with new material to be independently distributed by HIT Entertainment as their US distribution branch closed in March 2006. Subsequent Barney videos containing new material would be distributed by 20th Century Fox after.
- Another video where Barney does not turn back into a plush doll at the end.

- During the Dino Dance, all the minor human adult and child audience members, including Bridget, Kelly, and Matt from Mr. Knickerbocker and Tracy and Brian from Old King Cole decide to become volunteers.
- The instrumental version of "There Are Seven Days" plays as a cameo as BJ knows what the weekdays are.
- The short instrumental version of the "Barney Theme Song" plays as Barney says, "Hello, everyone. I'm so glad to see all of you.".
- When the announcer says, "With our special host...", she says "big" as the first clue, "friendly" as the second clue, and "purple" as the last clue.
- When the audience members join the announcer on the magic word, the table that plush doll Barney sits on gets replaced with nothing.
- In "I Hear With My Little Ear", the sounds are rain, which happens first as being guessed by Baby Bop, and finally, someone bouncing a ball, which happens last as being guessed by BJ.
Goofs[]
- Bridget is in the crowd after BJ says, "You can move the token!" to her, and her friends, Kelly and Matt.
- The bell does not play after the first and second nursery rhyme questions.
