Barney Merchandise has been around since the character's debut. From 1988 until 1989, the Backyard Gang videos (and book-and-tapes based on them) were the only merchandise available. Then in 1990, after a demand had been created by parents the first ever Barney doll was released by Dakin. When Barney & Friends debuted on PBS in 1992, tons of merchandise fearing the purple dinosaur were sold in just about every store. This category showcases a majority of the products that have been released all over the world featuring Barney and his friends. Everything from books; videos; music; toys; clothes; have been released over the years.
