Cody Newton is the main protagonist of the film Barney's Great Adventure. Cody is an urban, streetwise kid who has a cyncial disdain for childish notions,[2] further citing that a singing purple dinosaur such as Barney, is "kids stuff." Cody also doesn't believe in dreams coming true, however, when he wishes upon a star for "a real adventure" over the summer, Barney opens his eyes to see that dreams can come true. At the conclusion of the film he finally finds value in Barney's friendship and sense of imagination. Cody is the older brother to Abby Newton and Fig Newton and the grandson of Eliza and George Greenfield.
