Plot[]

Everyone's ready to have a Fun Day! But wait, what's this? Why, It's a special package for Barney! And everyone's very curious on what's inside. So, after bringing BJ (accidentally) and Barney to life, they find out that the package is a globe from Cousin Riff. He's leading everyone on a special Worldwide Treasure Hunt!

As they fly on an airplane, Baby Bop realizes that Riff's using her blankey as a Magic Carpet, which upsets her. But Barney reassures her. saying that she'll have a turn eventually. They first land in France, where we get to do the Can-Can with Riff. Baby Bop tries to find a temporary replacement for her blankey. Making her look like a little birdie. Look! they found their first clue. It's a table (A wheel you can eat on)!

Now it's time to go to India! We get to see a Great Big Elephant, and do a Dino Bhangra Dance. And hey, We found Baby Bop's blankey and the 2nd clue (the dancing bells). As they head to their next destination, Riff races the gang with a Bullet Train. Time to go to Japan, and find a "Fish that flies"! It turns out to be a very colorful kite. Now it's time for Baby Bop to have a turn, But understandably, everyone's very worried about her going by herself. So they fly off with their kites. Taking us to Intermission.

As we catch up with Riff, he finds out about Baby Bop. And is surprised to see her first. But, Baby Bop tells Riff that she can do a lot of things by herself now. Time to head into China! And their next clue is something "Red and Round, and very bright". As they look for it, They make a huge dragon with Baby Bop's blankey. Speaking of Baby Bop, she finds out that the clue relates to a Chinese Lantern. So now, the Treasure hunt is over. and it's time to head to our final destination, Mexico!

As Riff and the gang do the Number Limbo, Barney and his friends catch up to Riff. It turns out, all the clues combine to make a Tortilla Stall. So everyone has a great big Tortilla Fiesta! Now that the hunt has concluded, it's time to head back to where we started, and say goodbye. But BJ insists on one more big dance, which everyone agrees to. After which, Everyone takes a bow. and the show concludes. In other words, "Barney has left the building."

Trivia[]

  • This stage show marked:
    • The first time that the Barney doll appears in cartoon form (as stock art) in the beginning (except for the first Abu Dhabi stop, when they used a real doll. as the backdrop screen was experiencing technical difficulties.)[2]
    • The first time in a Barney live show that no female humans are present on stage (only for the Saudi Arabia performance).
    • The second time since More Barney Songs as well as the only live show where another dinosaur appears before Barney. BJ is the one to appear first while the release of More Barney Songs has BJ and Baby Bop appear before Barney showed up.
    • The third time "I Love You" is sung for three verses after Barney's Great Adventure and "My Family and Me". Unlike the first two with the third verse being a reprise of the first, this song uses a reprise of the second as the final verse.
    • The only live show based on Barney & Friends to not feature the voice actors from the television series reprising their roles as the dinosaurs like with the majority of the past shows (Dean Wendt, Julie Johnson, Patty Wirtz, and Michaela Dietz) and excluding El Parque Musical de Barney y sus Amigos plus Barney Rocks! El Concierto en Vivo! which were only performed in Latin America.
      • Life Like Touring used their own voice actors to portray the roles of the dinosaurs for this live show rather than using the actors from the television series. For example, Baby Bop and BJ are voiced by the same actress, while Barney and Riff have unique actors voicing them. But it is currently unknown who originally provided their voices since Riff's has only been revealed so far.
    • The only international stage show to contain original songs that were written and sung exclusively for their performance.
  • The songs, "The Welcome Song", "Alouette", "Oh Where, Oh Where Has Baby Bop Gone?", "Where, Oh Where Has My Blankey Gone?", "The Goodbye Song", "Tortilla Song", and "Piñata Song", return in this live show after notable years of absence.
  • The names of the human characters who performed in the show are currently unknown at this time. It is possible however that their names are based on the actors real names in real life, since during "The Airplane Song", the actor flying would say their real name.
  • Some of the lines were taken from Barney's Purple Park Tour (i.e "Thank you, thank you. Wow! And I haven't even done anything yet!") albeit rerecorded.
  • Unlike the other Barney stage shows that have the "Barney Theme Song" sung first (and like "Una Tarde con Barney y Sus Amigos"), "The Having Fun Song" takes its place while the Barney theme is sung next for this performance.
  • Unlike most of the Barney stages shows, World Tour is the only stage show that is still bookable via license request from Life Like Touring and WOW Entertainers Dubai.
