- September 20: Barney's Storybook Treasury app is released.

- February 1: Mattel, Inc. acquires HIT Entertainment, owners of the Barney franchise.[1]
- February 18-19: Una Tarde con Barney y Sus Amigos performed at Rural de Buenos Aires in Buenos Aires, Argentina during "Family Fest".
- February 25: Barney appeared at Kid-A-Palooza in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for "Barney's Super-Dee-Duper Sing-Along".[2]
- February 25-26: Barney performs at the Scotch Hall Shopping Centre in Ireland from 12.30PM to 4.30PM.[3]
- March 15 - Barney's Musical Castle performed at the Singapore Expo Hall 9 in Singapore.

- June 9-10: Barney performs a sing-along at The Bronx Zoo in Bronx, New York.
- June 22:
- Barney begins to appear at select Little Big Clubs in Hard Rock Hotels resorts in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean thanks to an exclusive rights deal forged between hospitality company All Inclusive Collection and HIT Entertainment.
- Barney walks the red carpet for the grand opening of The Little Big Club at Aventura Cove Palace resort.[4][5]
- July 14-21: Una Tarde con Barney y Sus Amigos performed at Rural del Prado in Montevideo, Uruguay during "Family Fest".
- October 26: Barney Live! - Let's Go performed at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi.
- Barney's Space Adventures ends its tour in Asia and Barney Rocks! El Concierto en Vivo! ends its tour in Mexico.

- March 21-23: A giveaway was held on Twitter for Barney adult-sized tees (found at rue21) & plush slippers (found at Spencer's). Users who followed the official Barney Twitter account (@dinomitebarney) were entered in the giveaway, which was announced on the twenty-third.
