Gerald Sheldon Herman (July 10, 1931 – December 26, 2019) was an American composer and lyricist, known for his work in Broadway musical theater. He wrote, composed and made the lyrics for Barney - The Song, the title song for Barney's Great Adventure.
He died at a hospital in Miami on December 26, 2019, at the age of 88.
