Barney Wiki

Joseph Hernandez (born October 30, 1961 in Corpus Christi, Texas)

Career[]

Barney[]

After going to school for a degree in advertising design, Hernandez had a friend who suggested to him a job he may be interested in considering that he liked to draw. After the friend revealed it was for a publishing division that was launching based on Barney & Friends, Hernandez was hesitant and didn't know much about the show at the time. Hernandez decided to go in for the interview, worked up some sketches for the position and met with Tricia Legault, a creative director for various published products based on Barney. Hernandez was hired due Legault looking for someone who could laugh and have fun, which Hernandez displayed during their first meeting.[1] Hernandez would eventually inherit the role of being art director for the Barney Magazines after Hilarie Erb, the former art director, left to start a family. Hernandez also served as the art director for the Barney website for a brief period.
