James Joshua Martin (born March 4, 1975 in Shreveport, Louisiana), commonly known as Josh Martin, is an American voice actor. He is known to voice Majin Buu, Kid Buu, and Evil Buu for the English dubs of the Dragon Ball franchise. He also voiced Commander Red in Dragon Ball.
Prior to doing anime dubs, Martin was known to be a costume performer of Barney from 1996 until 2009.

Audition[]
After graduating from KD Studios in 1996, Martin had signed with an agent. When he signed with an agent that morning, a faculty member from KD Studios paged Martin to tell him about an audition for Barney. Martin did not want to audition. The faculty member eventually convinced Martin to audition.
Martin had three callbacks. For his first audition, the "Barney Theme Song" was played as he jumped around like he was in the costume. Later that day he got a callback. For the second audition he did the same thing in his first audition but inside the Barney costume. Martin was later hired to be a costume performer in the tour of Barney's Big Surprise.
Preparation[]
Martin had two weeks to lose ten pounds. To get in shape he ate chicken and rice for every meal and rode his bike for far distances. At KD Studio, a teacher helped Martin decipher Barney's movements as he viewed Barney Live! In New York City.
Barney & Friends[]
During the production of the fourth season of Barney & Friends, David Joyner who was the performer during the season, left the show to film Barney's Great Adventure. Martin performed as Barney for various appearances until 2009.
From 2007-2011, Martin was a character wrangler on Barney & Friends.

- Josh Martin's favourite Barney song is I Love You.
- During production of the episode "Good, Clean Fun!", during one take of "The Popcorn Song", while Josh Martin was in the Barney suit, the wire of one of the batteries in the head (the one that controls the fan) grounded out on a bolt and rubbed the insulation off, causing smoke to come out of the mouth and the rest of the suit. He survived the incident and kept the exploded battery as a trophy when he left the show.[3][4][5]
- Due to this incident, it caused a notable rumor that the actor would smoke inside the Barney costume.
- Martin auditioned for the role of "Murray the Web-Surfing Mouse" for Come on Over to Barney's House. Martin auditioned in a costume with makeup.[6]
