Kathy is a main character who appeared in the first three seasons of Barney & Friends. Earlier than that, she appeared as one of the new friends in the Barney & The Backyard Gang video, Rock with Barney. She was portrayed by Lauren King.
About Kathy[]
- Family: Kathy lives with her mother and her grandmother, Nana, in an apartment. It is unknown what happened to her father, though in the 1993 Family Marathon, Barney does mention that Kathy's father doesn't live with her, implying that her parents could be divorced. She has no siblings. Her grandmother appeared in "Grandparents Are Grand!".
- Pets: Kathy has a parakeet named Priscilla.
- Best Friends: Min and Tosha.
- Hobbies: Playing with her teddy bear (Teddy) and playing soccer.
- Kathy is left-handed.

- Kathy was the only one among the four new friends of the Backyard Gang who was carried over to the Barney & Friends TV series in late 1991.
- Kathy, Min, Tosha and Shawn appeared in all three seasons of the First Generation.
- Kathy was replaced by Linda & Emily.
- It is implied that Kathy has a crush on Shawn.
- According to the episode 1-2-3-4-5 Senses!, Kathy hasn't learned to read stories at her age during Season 1 of the TV series.
- Michael is present in both her first and final appearance, as she and the latter made their final appearances in the same home video.
- Kathy has the same first name as one of the franchise's creators, Kathy Parker.
