Kevin is a character that only appeared in Barney's Big Surprise and its respective book adaptation. He was portrayed by Antwaun Hobbs in the first year of the national tour, and later by Brandt Love in the second year of the national tour, as well as the home video release of the live show.

Kevin is first seen, alongside the other kids, playing in the treehouse once the curtains open. Barney then proceeds to introduce the kids, including Kevin, who says hello to the audience. After introductions, Barney suggests that they tell the audience about what kinds of fun they were having in the treehouse, to which Kevin says it'd be alot more fun to show them. He and the others then proceed to show the audience as to what they were doing in the treehouse. Kevin showed the audience that he was having fun hula hooping and pretending to be in the fire department.

Eventually, it's made known that they're having a birthday party, and Kevin suggests that they should make it a guessing game to figure out who's birthday it is. BJ gives the clue that it's his birthday. Barney and the children soon converse privately about plans for BJ's birthday. From pretending to fly in an airplane to flying kites, Kevin and the children decide to decorate the treehouse for BJ's birthday party as the dinosaurs go see Professor Tinkerputt for BJ's surprise.

Soon after the dinos return, the treehouse is all decorated and Kevin, alongisde the other children, join in the festivities that take place during the rest of the show, including imagining treats, playing a game of Old MacDonald (where Kevin is dressed as corn) and having fun with Mother Goose's rhymes.

As seen on video, the treehouse height chart in Barney's Big Surprise has Kevin's height at sixty one and a half inches tall.
