Little Red Riding Hood is a children's story that has been told a few times on Barney & Friends.

"Playing It Safe"

And now, the Safety Patrol Presents: Little Red Riding Hood, Act 1: Red Ring Hood meets a Stranger.

Narrator: Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Red Riding Hood.

Little Red Riding Hood: (to audience) That's me.

Narrator: Who was on her way to Grandma's house with a basket of goodies.

Little Red Riding Hood: (checks basket) Apples, oranges, carrots, and califlower. (whispers to audience) My Grandma only eats healthy food.

Narrator: But as she went skipping through the forest, she suddenly met a Stranger.

(The Wolf jumps around at Little Red Riding Hood.)

Narrator: The Wolf.

Wolf: Yah-ah-ah!

(The audience boos at the Wolf.)

Wolf: What is your name, little girl?

Little Red Riding Hood: Little Red Riding Hood

Wolf: And where are you going?

Little Red Riding Hood: To Grandma's house with this basket of goodies.

Wolf: Grandma's house, that's a long walk. Why don't you come for a ride in my car?

(The audience gasps surprisely at the Wolf.)

Wolf: I'll take you there.

Little Red Riding Hood: No, I'm not suspose to get in a Stranger's car.

(The audience muddles in "yeah" to agree with Litthe Red Riding Hood.)

Little Red Riding Hood: And I'm not suspose to talk to Strangers either, good-bye! (skips away from Wolf)

Wolf: I know, I'll go to Grandma's house first, and I'll give them both a nasty surprise! Yah-ah-ah! (takes short cut to Grandma's house)

(The audience boos at the Wolf.)

Let's see what happens next in Little Red Riding Hood, Act 2: Grandma's House.

(The Wolf walks at Grandma's house while the audience boos at him again.)

Wolf: Knock, knock, knock.

Grandma: Who is it?

Wolf: (as Little Red Riding Hood) Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma, I brought you some goodies.

Grandma: You may come in now, Little Red Riding Hood.

(The Wolf opens the door and gives Grandma a nasty surprise.)

Wolf: (normal voice) Yah-ah-ah!

Grandma: (surprised) You're not Little Red Riding Hood!

Wolf: No, I'm the Wolf, and I'm going to eat you up!

(The audience gasps surprisely at the Wolf.)

Grandma: (takes off stuff while gets off rocking chair) Oh, no you're not.

(Grandma runs around the Wolf really fast a few times then runs out the door until he got dizzy)

Wolf: (dizzy) Whoa! She's pretty fast!

Little Red Riding Hood: (walks to door) Knock, knock, knock.

Wolf: (as Grandma, while puts Grandma's stuff) Who is it?

Little Red Riding Hood: It's Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma, I brought you some goodies?

Wolf: (sits down rocking chair) Just a minute, Little Red Riding Hood. (night cap falls off, picks up & puts back on) You may come in.

Little Red Riding Hood: (opens door, sets down basket, looks surprised) Grandma, you don't look so well.

Wolf: Really, may be you need a closer look.

Little Red Riding Hood: (walks closer to Wolf) Grandma, what big eyes you have?

Wolf: The better to see you with, my dear.

Little Red Riding Hood: Grandma, what big ears you have?

Wolf: The better to hear you with, my dear.

Little Red Riding Hood: Grandma, what big teeth you have?

Wolf: The better to eat you with, my dear.

(The Wolf jumps off the the rocking, takes off Grandma's stuff and gave Little Red Riding Hood a nasty surprise while the audience gasps surprisely at him again.)

Wolf: (normal voice) Yah-ah-ah!

Little Red Riding Hood: (surprisely scared) Eek!

Grandma: (comes in with rope) All right! Hold it, Wolfie!

Wolf: Hold what?!

Grandma: Hold this!

(The Wolf holds the end of the rope while Little Red Riding Hood walks away, then Grandma spins around very fast to tie him up.)

Little Red Riding Hood: (cheerfully) Oh, Grandma, you saved me!

Grandma: And I hope you learned, never to talk to Strangers.

Little Red Riding Hood: I sure did, I'll be careful from now on. (hugs Grandma)

Narrator: And so, Little Red Riding Hood learned not to talk to Strangers, and they all lived happily ever after.

(The audience applused and cheered happily.)
