Mel is a main recurring character first introduced in Barney's World. Mel is an active, quick-witted, competitive kid who's always up for a challenge and some friendly rivalry.[1] She is multiracial from Korean and Mexican heritage, speaks three languages, and loves to share her culture with her friends. She is six years old.[2]
Visuals[]
Mel has brown eyes and short brown hair. She wears a light-brown vest on top of a purple t-shirt. Her blue jorts look like they were torn off above the knee. Her right knee sports a pair of band-aids in an X-pattern. She wears yellow sneakers with white laces overtop of dark-blue socks.
Characteristics[]
According to the Super-Dee-Duper Sticker Book, Mel loves winning every game she plays, and sometimes she wants to hide her feelings to seem fearless, but Barney helps her understand that sharing her feelings with friends is powerful. Mel loves to lead her friends and she usually gets to be captain of Barney's pirate ship whenever they visit it. She is also great at fixing things and often fixes broken parts of the playground.
