Michael was one of the main cast of kids in the episode titled "Differences", which was his only appearance, which was originally apart of the tenth season of Barney & Friends and eventually was included within the show's fourteenth season. He was portrayed by Michael Taber. Michael enjoys playing follow the leader and has the capability of making kites.

During his episode appearance, all the children try to figure out what they can do by suggesting different games. Michael suggests the game follow the leader, further highlighting that he enjoys playing that game. The other children decide to play tag, to Jake's suggestion, leaving Michael behind. As Barney questions if he wants to play, Michael explains to Barney that it's hard to play tag given that he's in a wheelchair. Michael becomes sad and angry by the situation and wishes that he's able to play games that the other children can play. Barney assures him that even if he can't play all the same games, he knows that there other things he can do (such as making kites). Michael reiterates that he feels left out sometimes, to which Barney shares the same sentiment given his size. Eventually, Michael's mom calls him for lunch. Barney mentions that he'd like to see him come back and play, and Michael agrees to comeback and play later.

Michael returns and sees that the other children are in the same predicament as before, as they try to figure out what they can do next. Suggesting different games, they settle on the notion of riding bikes when Rachel asks Michael if he'd like to join them in their playtime. Michael tells Rachel that there are some games that he can't play, to which Lacey makes the notion that they'd find a game that they can all play together. Jake remembers that Michael likes follow the leader and Jackson suggestions that they play it and he can be the leader. Seeing how they're all going to play together, Michael thinks that he's not so different from the other children. Barney expresses to Michael that he's very special alongside the other children. Eventually, Michael and the others decide to play follow the leader around the park as Michael leads. After their game finishes, they all wonder as to what they can do. As the wind blows, Barney hints to the others about flying kites. Michael tells the other children that he knows how to make kites given that the others don't have any. As the children run inside the caboose, Michael thanks Barney.
