Mrs. Abel is a character who who only appeared in the episode "That's What a Mommy Is" which was a part of the the eleventh season of Barney & Friends. She is the mother of Heidi. Mrs. Abel was portrayed by Cara Serber.
In the respective episode, Mrs. Abel brings Heidi's baby brother, Andrew, to the park. Due to him sleeping, Mrs. Abel, alongside the others, shushes Baby Bop after they arrived being noisy close to Andrew. Once BJ arrives, a little too noisy in Andrew's prescence, he begins to cry. Mrs. Abel mentions that sometimes a song makes Baby Andrew feel better. She and the others sing "Hush, Little Baby" to make him feel better.
After they finish singing, Mrs. Abel asks her son if she's hungry, further suggesting that she's going to feed him milk. The others leave Mrs. Abel to feed Andrew as she encourages Heidi and the others to have fun in the park while they play.
Later in the episode, Mrs. Abel tells Baby Bop that Andrew is sleeping and that babies need to sleep a lot. After Mrs. Abel watches Baby Bop take care of her teddy bear, she suggests that she'll make a great mommy someday.
Heidi later suggests to her mom that she can watch Baby Andrew while she takes a break. Mrs. Abel thanks Heidi for the suggestion. Eventually, Mrs. Abel tells Barney that they have to go as well after BJ and Baby Bop leave.
