"My Favorite Things" is the twelfth episode from the second season of Barney & Friends.
Synopsis[]
Everyone spends the entire day sharing their favorite things. The kids get a surprise visit from Barney's friend: Joe Ferguson.
Stories: "All About Shapes"
Plot[]
While other students exit the school, Kathy stays in the classroom and sings to her teddy bear, eventually joining her friends that have stayed behind. When Barney comes to life, everyone is amused to find that while he has grown larger, his hat has not; Min helps him take it off.
Upon noticing all the bears, Barney wonders if something special is happening at school today; Kathy explains that today was her day to choose a "Favorite Things" theme day, and she chose teddy bears in honor of her special teddy. When Barney asks what they plan to do, Min explains that they were going to hold a picnic outside, but the weather is too poor. David suggests they hold it inside; Barney and the others agree enthusiastically.

BJ joins the picnic
During the picnic, the group hears BJ's tell-tale whistle, and greet him politely. BJ is initially confused as to why the group is, in his opinion, "talking funny", but Barney explains that they are simply using their good manners. After a song, BJ joins in the picnic. When Barney tries to hand him a napkin, he realizes that it is in fact Baby Bop's blanket; she appears shortly after, explaining that her blanket has "lost" her.
Kathy explains the theme day to Baby Bop, who enthusiastically states that her blanket is her favorite thing, and that she has had it for a long time. Barney explains that lots of children, like Baby Bop, have a soft blanket that makes them feel safe as well.
The group searches the classroom for other soft things; Shawn pets Zippity the Hamster and BJ finds a feather. In the midst of the search, Baby Bop realizes she has lost her blanket; Shawn states that they will help her find it. Despite searching the entire classroom, they can't find it. The blanket's true location is revealed when Baby Bop turns around; it is stuck to her tail and David gives it to her.
BJ empathetically states that he's sorry she lost it, and would feel the same way if he lost his cap. When she declares that it is his favorite thing, he agrees, but reminds her that she is his favorite sister. Noticing the state of the classroom after the search, Min suggests they clean up.

Barney walks around the mountain
After cleaning up, the group arranges some of the classroom equipment into a mountain, and ask Barney for his opinion. He compliments it, but explains that it may be so big as to be an obstacle to one of his story-telling friends who is coming to visit. After giving it a once-over, he comes to the conclusion that it is just right for his friend to "come around the mountain"; the group sings along.
Joe Ferguson arrives, and after an introduction, Barney asks him if he can share some of his favorite things. Joe explains that one of his favorite things is to share stories and he tells the gang [[A Story About Shapes]|a story about shapes]]. Min asks if they could tell him a story as a way to say thank you, and Joe agrees; he asks that, because there are so many bears in the classroom, if they could tell him a story about bears.
When the performing a puppet-show version of Goldilocks & the Three Bears ended, Joe thanks them for the show and leaves. Kathy asks Barney what his favorite thing is, and he encourages them to guess; he states that it is similar to some of their favorite things. Barney tells the group that his favorite thing is having friends like them. After Barney, Baby Bop, BJ and Kids sings "I Love You" BJ takes a tired Baby Bop home and BJ and Baby Bop saying goodbye to Barney and Kids them and the group finds Barney (now a doll) sitting amongst their teddy bears.

Adaptations[]
Baniwa Chingudeul[]
- "Me and My Teddy" and "He'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain" were sung in the playground instead of in the classroom in this version as well as with "The Sister Song" and "I Love You" being sung in the treehouse instead of in the latter setting.
- Barney and the kids play restaurant instead of having an indoor picnic and during this scene, when Barney pulls a red chair out for one of the kids, Seoung Joon, Mi Hyun, and Mina all go for the red chair, but they all fell down and hurt themselves.
- Baby Bop and BJ arrive together onscreen unlike in the original version where they arrive onscreen separately.
- Instead of BJ, Seoung Joon is the one who mistakes Baby Bop's blankey for a napkin when she dropped it on the ground.
- The plot of Baby Bop losing her blankey is completely different in this version. Instead of it being unknowingly left on her tail, Baby Bop unknowingly drops her blankey on the ground in the classroom when she goes up to the treehouse with BJ trying to catch up. When Baby Bop arrives to the treehouse, she notices that her blankey is already and cries until BJ caught up to her and retrieves her blankey back to her.
- A special guest doesn't appear to narrate "All About Shapes" in this version, instead, Barney narrates the story.
- Instead of "Three Bears Rap", the story of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" was basically sung to the tune of "Animal Parade".
- Baby Bop and BJ leave early before "I Love You" was sung.
