"Oh, What A Day!" is the twenty-seventh episode from the first season of Barney & Friends.

Plot

Tina is having a bad day. First, she had soap in her eyes, spilling a bowl of cereal all over her favorite dress, wearing two different colored socks - one blue and the other green - as she was in a hurry to change, accidentally grabbing her dad's lunch bag (containing sardine sandwich and cottage cheese without any desserts) instead of hers, and it seems to be getting worse and worse, with the latest incident involving a rushing peer accidentally bumping into Tina and knocking books out of her hands. But worst of all, she let her kitten Whiskers out of the house after she accidentally left the door open and fears he ran away. Barney and the gang try to cheer her up through songs and activities, but no matter what they do, Tina keeps having terrible luck (e.g. breaking a hand-made drum, stubbing her toe while dancing, and causing the top part of the ice cream to fall on the floor). Barney, Baby Bop, and the other kids tell her that she should just try to make herself smile to make her troubles go away. But then Barney finds Whiskers and Tina's day suddenly becomes much brighter.

Trivia

• This episode marked:
  • The final appearance of the original Barney Bag. A new design would be introduced in season two and would last until season six (with a couple upgrades).
  • The only time "When I Get Mad" was sung without BJ.
  • The final time Tina sings the first half of "I Love You" by herself.
• A picture of Min from this episode would later be seen in Sing & Dance With Barney.
• After this episode, the song "It's OK to Cry" was not used again until the Season 7 episode, "It's a Happy Day!".
• This is the second time Shawn plays the harmonica. The first time he did it was in "When I Grow Up..."
• Shawn wears the same shirt from "When I Grow Up..."

Goofs

• At the beginning of the episode, the school crossing picture sign is backwards. Usually the school children are walking right to left and not left to right.
• Despite Whiskers being male, in "Pretty Kitty Blues" the kitten is referred to as "she".
• Shawn shows no signs of allergy from being near Whiskers, but later on he reveals his allergy to animal fur in "At Home With Animals".
