Penny Peters Wilson (May 26, 1946 - January 23, 2011) was the longtime choreographer/performance director for the Barney franchise from 1988-2008. She first started choreographing for the Barney & The Backyard Gang videos with her final known involvement of the franchise in the US was choreographing "Barney's Colorful World!" which toured in 2003. She later choreographed various Barney Latin American shows until 2008.

Penny Wilson graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas in 1964.[3] She also took classes at an Oak Cliff studio.[4]

Having gone through several choreographers for Barney & The Backyard Gang, Sandy Duncan suggested to the crew to hire Penny Wilson.[5]
Personal Life[]
Penny Wilson married her husband, Nelson Wilson, on June 21, 1982.[6] Together, they had two children, Robbie and Rebecca. She resided in Richardson, Texas until she passed in 2011.
Death[]
Penny Wilson died of lung cancer on January 23, 2011 at the age of 64. She was buried at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
