Mel keeps trying to do a radical trick with the scooter and doesn't want to rest until she succeeds but ends up trying too hard; Barney and Billy help Mel learn to listen to what her body is feeling and why it matters.

"Red Light Stop, Green Light Go" was one of five episodes of Barney's World to be released on the streaming service Max on October 21, 2024. Following afterwards, it made a linear premiere on November 8, 2024 on Cartoonito, the preschool block of Cartoon Network (alongside the episode "Big, Bigger, Best").

- This episode of Barney's World marked the first time that Barney doesn't first appear in magical sparkles and heart fireworks when being called by the children. Instead a traffic light appeared and when it turned green Barney ran pass them.
- An instrumental version of "If All the Raindrops" is played as a musical underscore while everyone dances to the pink light.
