Rickey Carter (born Rickey Lynn Carter on November 9, 1981 in Shreveport, Louisiana) is a former actor who originated the role of Derek in Barney & Friends and the preceding Backyard Gang videos. He later moved to North Dallas, Texas with his mother.
Rickey takes Dance Lessons Especially Tap, Ballet & Jazz.
Rickey left the show in 1994 and has not done any acting work ever since. As a teen, he sold drugs & became a father to a daughter when he was 17 years old.
Rickey appeared on Purple Tales Podcast with Carey Stinson in June 2019.
