Round and Round We Go is a 2002 direct-to-video Barney Home Video that was released on August 27, 2002.
Plot[]
Keesha, Emily and Danny help Robert clean and fix up his grandfather's old bike in the treehouse. As Robert fixes the front wheel of the bike, it pops off and becomes broken. Barney suggests that they visit his friend Pop Wheely, who has a factory that makes all kinds of wheels. Barney and the kids eventually find themselves at Pop Wheely's Wonderful Wheel Factory with Pop coming out to greet Barney and his friends. Pop Wheels notices Robert's broken wheel and tells him that it's not going to work because it's not round. While Pop can't fix the old wheel, he's able to make a brand new wheel for the bike.
Pop Wheely soon brings everyone inside his factory where the gang notices all kinds of wheels. Pop Wheely brings Robert's wheel over to his machine to find out that the machine can make a new wheel, but it's going to take some time. While they wait, Pop shows them around his factory, leading him to show them his latest invention, which are boots that make funny sounds and make walking more fun. The kids decide to try on the boots and march around the factory.
Eventually Baby Bop comes by the factory and explains that something is wrong with her tricycle. Danny tells her that she has a squeaky wheel. Pop fixes the issue by putting oil on the big wheel of her tricycle. Soon Barney leads to telling Pop that the kids are a little curious of how his big machine works. Pop demonstrates and the machine provides a wheel for his bus. Pop soon suggests that they can his bus for a drive. After the bus ride, the gang learns about street safety, pretending to cross the street. Eventually BJ comes to the factory riding in on his scooter, pretending it's a horse in the wild west. Pop Wheely tells everyone that horses were a popular way of transportation, further emphasizing that they would carry wagons. While BJ never thought of wheels and horses going together, Pop emphasizes that wheels can be found in the most surprising places, further showing that there are wheels on boats. Barney tells everyone that a boat's captain uses a wheel to steer the boat. Barney and the children eventually go on a boat ride while BJ and Baby Bop stayed back to help Pop Wheely with a surprise he planned to do.
When Barney and the children come back, they find a line of bikes for he children to ride and test out. After the bike riding, Pop Wheely reminds Barney that trains also have wheels. Pop Wheels eventually spills that he has a train and he rides it everyday after the whistle blows. Once the whistle blows, everyone goes on a train ride. Robert felt like he was flying given they were going so fast on the train. Barney mentions that while planes fly, they also have wheels. With help from his machine, Pop Wheely showcases an airplane wheel. Barney questioned if Pop Wheely had an airplane, with Pop further mentioning that he had four planes that they could fly in. Everyone goes to fly in the planes that Pop had. After the plane ride, Robert's new bike wheel is ready. Pop even tells BJ and Baby Bop that he has special wheels for their scooter and tricycle respectively. Back at the treehouse, Robert is pleased to know that the new wheel fits with the bike. Barney and the children eventually put the finishing touches on Robert's newly renovated bike.

Production[]
This video was one of five home videos filmed from late 1999 to early 2000 immediately after season six of Barney & Friends wrapped production. Other videos filmed around that same time included Barney's Super Singing Circus, Be My Valentine Love, Barney, You Can Be Anything, and Barney's Beach Party. Although the video was released in 2002, it had a 2000 copyright date, meaning its production finished that year.
Release[]
According to Barney's Dino Dancin' Tunes, the prototype name for this video was Barney's Wings, Wheels & Waves before being renamed to Round and Round We Go.
Home media[]
Round and Round We Go was intended to be released on July 30, 2002 before being pushed back to August 27, 2002. The former date eventually became the pre-order date. The video was officially released by HIT Entertainment at a suggested retail price of $14.95 for the VHS.[1] It was also released on DVD. While not explicitly stated on DVD covers, this video would eventually be reprinted by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment as evident by various DVD discs when the respective company had distribution rights to the Barney franchise. In 2002, this video was featured in the Blockbuster Exclusive video, On The Move with Barney (along with Barney's Adventure Bus). Round and Round We Go was also included as a runner up prize for The Barney Beachstakes. This video was also closed-captioned by Media Access Group at WGBH.
In September 2002, Round and Round We Go debuted at #14 on the Billboard Top VHS Sales.[2] The video also spent a few weeks on the Billboard Top Kid Video chart within that same year.[3] Round and Round We Go spent three weeks on the Official Video Chart for OCC (between March 1, 2003-March 15, 2003), peaking at #40 during its week of debut on the chart.[4]
