Barney Wiki

Along with his signature magic words, Shimbaree, Shimbarah, The Barney Shake is a magical trick that Barney performs throughout three videos from the Barney & The Backyard Gang era which wasn't used in the Barney & Friends era after Barney in Concert.

Elements[]

Waiting For Santa[]

Barney first performed the trick backwards by saying; "First I shake my tail, and roll my eyes, and zap!" which the magic trick turns the Backyard Gangs' PJs into summer clothes, but when he tries again by saying this instead, "First I roll my eyes, then I shake my tail, and presto!", the winter clothes appear. Then, Michael dubs it the Barney Shake, so Barney and the Backyard Gang use the magic trick to get on top of the Derek's roof where Barney's magical sleigh was waiting for them.

Campfire Sing-Along[]

The Backyard Gang doesn't have any camping equipment such as lanterns, matches, rope, food, pillows, blankets, tents, and flashlights. Barney tells the Backyard Gang he can fix that in a shake, so the Amy, Tina and Michael tries the trick by saying "Amy: First you roll your eyes, Tina: then you shake your tail, Michael: and presto!", however, nothing appears, but when Barney does it without saying the words, the camping equipment and clothing appear.

Barney in Concert[]

This was the final appearance of the magic trick with Barney saying "First I wiggle my tail, then I roll my eyes, and zap!" and Baby Bop makes a brief appearance out of the box by keeping it a secret from the Backyard Gang until after performing "Mr. Knickerbocker" to reveal the surprise.
