I emailed Bob Singelton about the synths and music samples he used for Barney.
He has a huge list
- Roland Sound Canvas (Maybe a SC-55)
- Kurzweil (small piano) (Micro Piano?)
- E-MU Proteus 2 (Most of the sounds, woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings)
- Boss Dr. Synth
- E-MU Emax II (One of the sounds is from a third-party "Northstar". The sample is called "South American Pipes", which he mainly uses.)
- Roland JV-880
- Roland Super JX/MKS-70
- Roland Juno 106
- Alesis HR-16 (Half-hat/Hi-hat)
- E-MU Ensoniq
- Roland D-50 (The Fantasia patch is used in the video "Waiting for Santa")
- Yamaha TX81-Z (Harmonica, other effects)
- Roland R-8M - (Drum samples)
Plus, Joe Phillips (I emailed him too was indeed the music director for A Day at the Park at Universal Studios Florida. He worked close to the park before moving to Dallas. Plus he uses a Roland MKS sound module for an electric piano sound commonly used.
