Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual, period that recognizes and celebrates the contributions of Hispanic Americans to events in history and history that's currently in the making. The efforts to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week. The observance was eventually extended to a month in 1989.
History
Barney
1990s
- In September 1996, Tycoon Enterprises began distributing Spanish versions of Barney videos in Mexico.
- In April 1997, a panel of journalists voted Barney & Friends the #1 children's program in Mexico.
- In 1998, Barney Magazine won the CANIEM award for "Best Children's Magazine" from National Editorial Chamber in Mexico.
- For the first time in 1999, a Spanish-language version of the singing "I Love You" Plush was available internationally called "Te quiero" Barney.[1]
2000s
- In 2007, Barney received a star on Paseo de las Luminarias, the Mexican equivalent of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
2010s
- On February 4, 2014, Barney starts a Latinoamérica YouTube channel and on February 26, 2014, Barney starts a Latinoamérica Facebook page.
- Released on April 21, 2015, there was an app called Learn Spanish with Barney that was available for a short while.
