- This episode, along with Gone Fishing! and Hats Off To BJ! are the only episodes where Juan appears without Carlos.
- The two trains that were sitting on the playset, as well as being used for "The Little Engine that Could" were manufactured by LGB, while the blue engine was manufactured by Lionel but with parts from a Jim Beam wine decanter train while repainted blue, and the red engine was made by the Antique Pressed Steel Hill Climber.
- The blue engine would later reused as a decoration in the school classroom of Season 4 - Season 6, as well as a decoration at Barney's House. Also from Season 7 to onwards it was mostly seen in the library, as well as some of the shelves of the caboose.
- The blue engine is among the list of trains that were owned by Carey Stinson after Barney & Friends ended.
